Several CU School of Medicine faculty members attended last month’s American Neurological Association (ANA) 138th Annual Meeting in New Orleans, La. CU participants Kenneth Tyler, Amy Brooks-Kayal and Steven Ringel also serve as ANA Board members.
As part of the conference, Tyler had the opportunity to meet President Bill Clinton (see photo) who delivered the keynote address regarding healthcare policy.
President Clinton spoke about the need for Americans to recognize and adopt better systems than our own, particularly when it comes to the administrative costs of health care. He suggested working through the kinks in the Affordable Care Act, reducing health-care overhead, and using some of the money saved to fund critical research.
The ANA is the senior academic society in Neurology and one of the oldest academic neurological societies in the world.
