AURORA, Colo. – This year’s university employees appreciation luncheon, hosted by Staff Council at the Anschutz Medical Campus, attracted a record-breaking number of employees. More than 600 staff and faculty RSVP’d for the event, which is three times the amount as last year.
Deserae Frisk, Staff Council chair and course coordinator for the School of Education and Human Development, helped to put on the luncheon. “We wanted to open it up to everyone – to show that we are all in this together,” Frisk said.
In addition to the luncheon buffet, there was live music performed by Coles Whalen, a Denver-based artist. Holiday treats also were sprinkled on all tables, adding to the festive mood.
Frisk added, “We just want everyone to know how much they are appreciated.”
Today’s luncheon was coordinated by Staff Council member Everlyn Sandoval of the School of Medicine.
In October, the Staff Council also had hosted the highly popular Halloweeen-themed employee breakfast held downtown in the Lawrence Street Center.
