Medical school, nursing and others cited by U.S. News & World Report

DENVER – Several graduate programs at the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus were ranked in the top 10 nationally and others were well regarded in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings.
The U.S. News list includes detailed statistical information on more than 1,200 graduate programs nationwide. Methodology varies by program and usually includes “peer rankings” – what others think.
As in the past, the School of Medicine and College of Nursing fared well in the rankings as did several other CU Denver | Anschutz schools and programs. Here are the program rankings, which in some cases are carried forward from prior years:
- Primary Care: No. 13
- Medical specialties:
- Family Medicine: No. 5
- Rural Medicine: No. 9
- Pediatrics: No. 6
- Nurse Practitioner Pediatrics program, No. 5
- Online program, No. 10
- Midwifery program, No. 13
- Nursing program, No. 15
- Nurse Practitioner Family program, No. 16
- Health Administration and Executive Health Administration, No. 32
- Part-time MBA, No. 101
School of Education: No. 98 (online program No. 29)
School of Public Affairs: No. 29 (prior year ranking)

The magazine offers the rankings as a tool to students and parents who are comparing programs at accredited public and private universities in the U.S.
“Rankings can inform your thinking—but they won’t hand you an easy answer,” the magazine said in its rankings last year. “The rankings should only be used as one tool in finding the right graduate school or program. You need to consider many non-rankings factors including cost, location, and course offerings.”
