Recent migraine diagnosis linked to increased risk for car crashes among older drivers

“We were surprised to see such a large increase in the odds of a crash associated with incident migraine,” Carolyn G. DiGuiseppi, MD, MPH, PhD, a professor in the department of epidemiology at the Colorado School of Public Health, told Healio. “Prior studies have shown small increases in the risk of motor vehicle crash injuries in people with prevalent migraine but did not examine recently diagnosed migraine. This suggests there is a high-risk period for people immediately following their diagnosis with migraine.”

Rates of trampoline-related fractures jump among children

Garg, MD, professor of medicine and pediatrics at the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes, University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, and Sarit Polsky, MD, MPH, assistant professor of medicine and pediatrics at the Barbara Davis Center for Diabetes, University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, wrote that the trial revealed how a hybrid closed-loop system can be “safe and effective when customizable glucose targets within the pregnancy-specific target glucose range are used.” However, they said several questions were unanswered in the trial, including when hybrid closed-loop therapy should be initiated.
