Maybe you want to learn how to be more efficient in your workout, or have your cardio workouts help you lose weight. Personal assessments in the Human Performance Lab can also help you achieve these goals.

Now through the end of December, the CU Anschutz Health and Wellness Center is offering these assessments at a special price of $179 (normally $229) for the Weight Loss and Wellness Assessments and $279 (normally $399) for the Sport Metabolism Assessment.  You can also purchase a gift certificate for that person on your holiday list who is difficult to shop for.

Our Human Performance Lab expert, Shanon Squires, BA, Kinesiology, ACSM EP-C, NASM PES, can help you select the right package. Each package comes with metabolism testing, a detailed explanation of your results and a personalized one-month plan to help you reach your goals.  “You will learn how to burn a higher percentage of fat at speeds that you can handle while lowering your heart rate.  You learn about your unique metabolism and how to make it more efficient” says Squires.

He has been working with all types of people performing VO2 Peak and Lactate tests for over six years. Squires is an exercise physiologist with a dedicated following of long term clients who rely on him to continually guide their cardio and strength workouts. He has worked with a broad range of people from complete novices who want to run their first 5k to more experienced elite athletes, recreational athletes and everything in between.  Most recently, he has been working with some amazing young athletes doing great things in the cycling world, a hand full of competitive indoor rowers and improving countless clients’ weight loss.  “The most amazing results I have seen are from people 50+ who are starting to make exercise a priority for the first time in their lives,” he says. “The key is being willing to start and stick with the prescribed program.”
