Over 150 people participated in health screenings, learned about research studies, and took part in culinary medicine cooking demos and recipes at the second annual Research & Health Fair.

The Sept. 28 fair was organized by 9Health, the CU Anschutz Health and Wellness Center (AHWC), and the CU School of Medicine’s Division of Rheumatology. It took place at the AHWC and also featured 25 research groups from CU Anschutz presenting findings from their work.

ResFairINS1Health screenings included blood chemistry, vitamin D, vitamin B12, colon cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, blood pressure and male testosterone.

“The research fair was well attended and gave the community a unique opportunity to learn about some of the exciting medical research that is going on at CU Anschutz,” said Kevin Deane, MD, associate professor, rheumatology, at CU Anschutz. “The collaboration between 9Health Fair and the CU Anschutz Medical Campus is terrific, and we are looking forward to doing the fair again next year.”

Added Gary Drews, CEO of 9Health, “As 9Health is guided by researched preventive health best practices and tools, we are very proud to help connect the public’s growing curiosity and support of research with CU’s researchers in search of what’s best for us as patients and consumers.”
