“If you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes.” That’s one of the first things heard from Coloradans who’ve become accustomed to the unpredictable weather.
However, two of Denver’s top 10 snowstorms on record came this past October and, in this case, blizzard-like conditions prompted an early closure for university operations on the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.

What happens when there is a closure or delay for university operations at CU Anschutz?
If there is a closure or delay for university operations, notifications will be sent by 5am to all students, faculty, staff and media.
- An email and a text message will be sent
- A post will be on the University Police social media channels with information available
- A media advisory will be sent to local press
- Information will be available on cuanschutz.edu/alerts and the CU Anschutz information line 877-463-6070
Does a CU Anschutz closure or delay affect my work schedule at the hospitals on campus?
- CU Anschutz closures and delays do not affect the operations at the University of Colorado Hospital or Children's Hospital Colorado. Hospital and clinic operations are normal unless otherwise announced by those facilities. Students, faculty, and staff assigned to work in the clinics/hospitals on campus must report to work unless the hospitals announce changes in their operations.
