Over at Children's Hospital Colorado's Anschutz Campus, they have redeployed a patient care tent outside of the emergency department that is being used to treat low acuity patients.
Community members can access free or low cost health screenings, blood work, COVID-19 and flu vaccines.

In response to the scale of the need, Cherry Creek has partnered with Children’s Hospital Colorado and the University of Colorado School of Medicine to open its own day treatment facility for district students with serious mental health issues. The facility will be able to treat about 60 kids at a time and is slated to open in the fall of next year.
It’s the reason the University of Colorado School of Medicine, University Hospital, Children’s Hospital, VA Medical Center and some of the most critical research projects in the world are on the Aurora Anschutz Campus.
Now, though, it’s not clear how much warning Colorado would have if another wave were building, Beth Carlton, an associate professor of environmental and occupational health at the Colorado School of Public Health, said last week, when hospitalizations were still plateaued. Those who study the data need to figure out how to develop a clear picture so people know when they need to take more precautions and when they can relax a bit, she said. “We need to really be thinking strategically about what are the key data,” she said. “I think that this is the question that is most important to be asking right now.”
Corey Lyon, DO, vice chair for clinical affairs in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, says primary care doctors are playing a bigger role in providing psychiatric care and can offer emotional support for these patients as part of an emphasis on "whole-person care."
